  • Fixed the problem of EPSF with complex (or several) clipping paths sampling

  • Fixed the problem with certain EPS files sampling that could cause the server to reach a deadlock.

  • Henceforth you can set the registry DWORD value "SamplerColor" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\cyan\...\ServerKernel" to "4" in order to generate the CMYK target low-res images, or to "1" to generate the RGB target low-res images.

  • Fixed the problem with installing cyan software on NT4.

  • smarter clipping path handling: the correct PhotoShop clipping paths are now by default added to TIFF and EPS samples. The sample's clipping is now usable and visible in QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

  • added option "Layout Sampling Delay", which specifies after how many seconds the sampler starts creating a low-res sample file 

  • added option "Resample if Sample is deleted"

  • the clipping path of EPS/TIFF samples is now also visible in PageMaker 

  • added option "Create EPSF also for clipped & hi-fi images" to the Layout Samples tab of Sampler Queue Properties. If "Create TIFF sample for raster hi-res, else EPS" is selected, EPS samples are also created from non-EPS hi-res image if the hi-res image is a multichannel image, includes a clipping path or color channels that do not belong to the selected color mode

  • EPS samples with printable data are now by default readable by PhotoShop

  • fixed a problem with EPS samples placed into PageMaker 7.0 that could cause PageMaker not to include the images when printing

  • nested folders and files can now be deleted with the Explorer in an InPlace sampler queue configured to "Auto Delete Samples" or "Resample if Sample is deleted"

  • InDesign 1.5.2 now can list the PhotoShop clipping path in "Object->Clipping Path" if user imports a low-res sample image

  • solved a problem when EPS samples with PhotoShop information could not be placed into QuarkXPress documents

  • fixed a problem when samples placed and cropped in InDesign failed to print

  • fixed a QuarkXPress 4 printing problem of TIFF samples with alpha channel

  • fixed the problem when samples were displayed in PhotoShop in wrong dimensions

  • fixed a problem with sampling PhotoShop 6.0 files

  • removed a  memory leak in InPlace sampler queues

  • fixed a problem with EPS/PICT samples that were not readable by Quark because the PostScript code comment for PhotoShop resource length was 0. The bug occurred with hi-res that included PhotoShop resource.

  • NEW FEATURE for InPlace folders: if user deletes a sample, then the Sampler re-samples the original and the layout sample is re-created

  • reading JPEGs with resolution in dots/cm corrected

  • when writing images including alpha channel with the jpeg compression predetermined, the tiff samples switch from jpeg to lzw compression automatically in order for the alpha channel data not to be lost
